Breaking Spur and pinion gears on Traxxas X-Maxx

Do you have the 8s or 6s model? The 6s has a slipper the 8s has a cush drive.
Went through these issues myself on the XMaxx. If you get a GDS brand spur and Pinion the problems go away. Very good steel (not cast)

You have the cush drive in the assembly behind the spur. Any 1/8 scale or bigger rig - I use metal spurs.
