Well, I got my Savage last night, and ran the first tank thru tonight, but as I have heard from others on the forum the idle just kept going up and up and up until nearly full throttle.......I didn't touch either the high or low idle screws since the guy at the LHS said not to touch until atleast 3 tanks of fuel go thru, I set the throttle trim to it's lowest setting and the carb looks to be closed, but reguardless after it stalled and was restarted a few times the first tank finally ran dry. Any suggestions?

Have you been turning the high and low carb setting screws or the idle screw, they are different things. My savage25 was idling fast too. Take off the air cleaner and see how open your carb is, there should be about a 2-3mm gap with the throttle in the closed position. if the gap is bigger than that, close the idle screw until the gap is about 2-3mm. then start the truck with the wheels on the ground. adjust the idle screw until the car stays in place and doesn't stall. That should help a little bit.

:trashed: Yea it's the .25, sweet looking machine. I haven't adjusted any of the screws at all, though I think I will do like ya said and take the air cleaner off and check the needle gap, I can't wait till it's broke in so I can really start ripping up some sh!%. I drive a dump truck and the quarry I load at everyday has this huge pile of what looks like sand but really it's the "dust" of the rock they crush and man it's just a monstrosious pile probably 25 + feet from the foot of the hill to the top! Anyway thanks for the info and feed back guys. :wedgie:
