I went to run the first tank of fuel through the MGT today. I primed the engine by giving a few tugs while covering the stinger until I saw the fuel reach the carb. Clipped on my glow ignitor and tugged on the pull starter. Here is the shocker. It started on the first pull. I was stunned.

I yanked on my Savage SS at least a dozen times before it started the first time.

I must say I was impressed with the ease of starting the Thunder Tiger mill. I put on my glove for nothing. I did have to richen the low speed needle a little while it was idling through the first tank. I use an on-board temp monitor and the temp started to get a little high once it got around half tank.

cool stuff! agreed, i found it to be a very ez mill to start and tune. how do u like the MGT so far? have u started to dial her in yet?

Lol I was stunned myself when I started my MGT( now belongs to Bruce at RushRc ). It always ran strong for me. I love the drill start. Do yourself a favor and use the drill start always. Glad to hear you like it so far. Did you tighen up the center universals? If not PM me or do a search for this fix. I can help you with the fixes I went and did. Hint Move the Battery to the Aux port mod on the receiver and use a 6V pack.

Oh yeah use the primer bulb to prime it if you haven't taken it out. I am going to put one on my buggies.

lol yep that primer kicks ass, had the same thought and may put it on my other rides too, thought it would leak or the bulb would blow but nope... it also helps the engine from leaning out because it is also a oneway valve and doesn't bubble your fuel.

I removed the primer to install a high capacity fuel filter. Maybe I will re-install it and give it a try.

Sunnyd, I was only able to run the 1 tank thru it so far. Hopefully I will finish break-in this weekend.
