break in???

So am I understanding the manual right for my savage xl. I have to run 3 tanks through it at idle the 2 at 1/4 throttle in circles. Anyone know about this or is there a better break in method?

I ran that method and it worked fine for me. I would do tanks 4 and 5 with the body off and on a smooth surface. After the 5th tank I would then tune for performance.
