Haven't did the linkage mod yet. Had decent brakes. Planning on ordering the parts for the 3 basic mods this time. Maybe. Just had the Savage about a month or so.

I have bought 5 cars since January. All 5 are broke. Most aren't serious.
Savage, brakes
X-T, pull-start
X-cell, spur gear
Mini-T, motor
Duratrash TQ, mistake
 
Oops, didn't see that one. I think that's what's on my savage. I didn't install it, I bought it from skymaxx and he had done this upgrade. If I remember correctly, that's the kit he installed.
 
Yes, the second link he posted is the one I installed on your Savage, olds.

The HPI Dual Disk kit comes with a steel brake hex as shown in the link you posted. I just installed one and it is a very big improvement over the stock setup.
 
Thanks for the help guys. I'd be lost without these forums. I love the Savage so far. Sure is a lot more tinkering on these cars than my planes though. But me, the wife and my 19 yr. old son are having a blast. Thanks again.
