Brake adjustment knob and spring

Well I was driving and the car did a bunch of flips and landed against a curb. Bent the piss out of my roll cage and a toe link for the steering. Anyway upon inspection spring and knob for the brake adjuster has vanished. I looked up the parts on the innernet and can't for the life of me justify spending 10 bucks on a linkage set just to get the spring and knob for it. Yes I'm cheap i know.... lol

I was thiking just to use a spring from a ball point pen and extra collar and grub screw set similar to the stop for the throttle linkage. I rarely adjust the brake tension so I'm thinking this is cheap fix... any ideas? or can these parts be had cheaper?

The collar and grub screw with a pen spring or piece of fuel line will be just fine.
