Bought a New Laptop

I got a new laptop yesterday.. Compaq Persario 2500, P4 2.6gig, 512mb, 60gig harddrive and built in wireless... I like it its Much faster than my pc and my old laptop I recently bought from Dell... I sold that one and bought this one..

And I was also wondering if anyone here knows how to transfer files from my PC to the Laptop..? via a router? thanks

If the two machines are wireless, you can go direct from one to the other. You'll need to set-up filesharing to make it work. If they are not both wireless, then you are going to have to obtain a CAT 5 ethernet cable to run between the two machines in order to move the files. A router is a good idea for permanent networking, but not required for what you are talking about.

In either case there is some software set-up and manipulation that you would have to go through.
