So I am thinking about buying an Inferno GT 1/8th scale car and I noticed that the body has no pre-cut holes in it at all. None for the engine, pull start or the fuel tank.

Now I assume this is because it gives you more choices to cut where you want, but doesn't it need to have a hole for the engine to keep it cooler?

Plus that means if you did not cut any holes that you would have to remove the body everytime you need to refill or start the car.

Does any one have one of these? Does the racers cut any holes or do they think it disrupts air flow too much?

Help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Yeah, they pretty much give you an uncut body and you have to do the post holes and the holes for the engine to cool off and quick pit-stop holes too.

Do you know if they give you cut out diagrams?

Or do you wing it? LOL

I'm not sure. The one at my LHS that they have on display doesn't have post holes on it, so it could be to just leave it like that. I found this off of another forum, but I'm not sure if it counts for all bodies. This one he replied to was for the Subaru body.

Front holes: 4 1/4 inches from ground when body off chassis.

Rear holes: 5 1/4 inches from ground when body off chassis.

Holes are 5 3/4 inches apart (side to side).

Holes are 16 1/2 inches front to rear apart.

Body is 11" wide (measured across middle)

Wheelbase (that is front to rear measurement of wheel cutouts) is about 13 1/4 "

Outside of wheel well flare to outside of opposite wheel well flare is just over 12"

Body length is almost 2 feet (approx 23")

Height from ground up, when resting on ground: 7 inches

Great. Did it come with a picture? Plus did it say anything about how big he cut the holes?
