I just finished up a Protoform Mazda 6 for my Serpent 710. Needless to say I'm a little disapointed in the fitment. The rear body posts lined up right under the rear wing fastening nubs. I tried moving the mounting posts to the front of the rear bulkhead where they mount up but it would not clear the rear wing mounts.

I am just curious what bodies everyone else is using on their Serpent 710's. I am not completely thrilled with Protoform bodies and plan to go back to HPI bodies like I always ran before on my HPI cars. I really like the BMW M3 and BMW 328ci body has anyone mounted up this body on their 710? If so, how did it fit?

I included a few pics of my Mazda 6 body, not one of my best works of art. If are familiar with some of the other bodies I painted and posted pics of you will see what I mean.

Serpent 710 owners please respond with your body of choice. Once I find a body that I really like I will use that particular body over and over on this chassis.

Thanks for the help!

Mazda 6 is notorious for coming through the wing. what some guys do is ream a hole through the wing for the posts. Nothing you can do about it.

I use the CTS-V, Stratus 3.1 (not pleased with it but use it) and Alpha Romeo. The Mazda 6 is another good body but make accomodations for the body post to come through the wing.

I was going to run the body posts through the wing but they lined right up with the difussers on the wing. If I hadn't of mounted the difuser plates I would have done it that way. I ended up sliding the wing back on the mounts, it worked, just not an ideal set up.

Which Alpha Romeo body do you use Diver? Who makes it?

As always, thanks for the info!

Parma ... Alpha Romeo touring Car P/N 10087

A tip, if you run that body with the wing in that configuration during a ROAR sanctioned race, you will get a DQ. Wing edge must not extend passed the rear bumper and wing height must not be higher than the roof line. There's other limitations but those are the most noticeable. Everything else must be measured with a "go/no go" gauge to really be noticed. But that's only if it's a big race like the great lakes challenge.

I don't think this body has a chance in hell of lasting until next years GLC.....lol! Hopefully I have found a body that I really like that mounts up better than this Mazda 6 by then.

Thanks for the info on the Alpha body................

No prob. You know how to conact me for more info concerning the 710. Just remember, the Mazda 6 body is a bit more agressive than the stratus 3.1 in turning but doesn't have the rolling brick attitude of the CTS-V. The Alpha body is pretty much the same as the Mazda 6 without the wing issue.

The Mazda 6 is a nice body....

The Stratus is a bit looser than the Mazda but still a good body.

For racing, people usually use the Mazda 6, CTV-S, and Stratus.

I believe the Alpha is discontinued but I could be wrong.

the protoform Alpha bodies are discontinued, but parma makes the same body but alittle thinner..
