Hey guys what is your luck with bluebird servos. i was going to run them in my AD2 for 1/10th scale offroad. I have heard they are good but they dont last long. what is your guy's experience with them?

I got some cheapy "TowPro" one off ebay as a back up and just because a member on here told me they were actually pretty decent and I actually really like it. It turns my 40 series just sitting still, pretty fast too. Not bad for $17 shipped to my door.

Any time I've read anything in forums about them, they are powerful or quick (depending on the servo), but their lives are short and their centering leaves something to be desired. I've read that 8 or 10 times. All the same stories with the occasional story of one being really good and one frying within minutes of installation.

I got one a while back and it didnt center at all.
I believe I made a video of me smashing it with a hammer.

Ill say, The case took several swings to crack and it outlasted my bench top. Servo was still intact and I had to replace my bench top.

Hope this helps.

.

what would you sugest for a pretty quick servo? I'm guessing that bluebird isnt the way to go.

Bulebird....yuck. Mine lasted all of 3 tanks in my Storm, bought the metal gears for it, but the performance was CRAP. Always smelled "hot". Spend $$$ on a decent servo instead.

Yeah, what is "fast" for you? What is it for, what radio are you using(for end points), and how much are you looking to spend?

.

i got the spektrum dx3. By pretty fast i would like something close to 0.07 a little slower is fine i looked at an expensive servo for that. Just need some sugestions on something not too expensive. i just dont feel like throwing 200 bucks out for a set of servos. And i dont want to get sugestions on things that you dont actually run. I say 0.07 because I'm looking at the airtronics and that was the one i was going to invest in. But i would like some sugestions maybe i dont need to throw that much money at it:puke:

.07 HMMM you wont find that at a "cheap" price. The Airtronics analog . ones you looked at, a digi Hitec 5925, the digi Ace servo, a Futabu digi, all of which will cost you. How much tq you need, whats it for?

psunitro please read my posts before you respond a lot of that is explained.

Thank you but my question was about bluebird servos.

You may want to be a little more courteous to those trying to help you.
Posts like this wont get you to far with the guys that have your answers.

Just thought I would toss that into the mix.

Please dont try and "tell" me to reread your post, it comes off as rather rude to someone who is tring to help. You went from "what about Bluebird" to whats the "best servo"

You never stated if it was for steering or th/brake?

LOL, Ed beat me to it!

No big deal........
