Well I finally learnt how to blow an RB ws-7 into oblivion today, me piston let go at about 44000 rpm and made a real mess, piston and liner aside, it bent the crank, blew a hole clean through the side of the block took out most of the cooling fins, coated my pro spec in lots of lovely grey matter and broke the back out of the body, this motor has done some serious ltrs/gallons and has run like a dream, so its now burried in the garden with a little cross, 2 new rbs on their way up fron the supplier tommorow, :)

wow! Pics please. Never seen a blown motor much the less one that has done that much of a mess.

Well done, sounds a lot more entertaining than when i blew my V01-B up, that just stopped and mangled itself to death internally.

What where you running it in at those sort of revs?? Must have been going some.

He said he was running it in a prospec. Good job definently post pics.

sorry guys no pics kinda burried it a little early will get a shot of the grave for you though lol

Did you at least say a few words? LOL!

Dear father, we are here today to ask that you lift up thie RB .21, and take it into engine heaven where it can run 450,000 RPM's, and make a sweet sound for eternity.

Amen

LOL!!!!!!!

I find throw very theraputic...mine O.S got chucked over a tall hedge into a field....complete with mounts, flywheel and complete clutch...had to find it...i needed those bits...found it, removed the bits i wanted and returned it to the field.....

Thats insane my piston and sleeve have just been sitting right next to me for some time now, I threw the engine body and all in the garbage, Guess i did her wrong. LOL

whatever you do- dont flush it down the toilet. that only works for rodents and small fish. if you feel you must use water; give it a burial at sea (or pond, lake or deep puddle).

Don't EVER throw them in the trash. Would you do that to the family cat?
These engines were once trusted friends, give them the respect they deserve.
I like the idea of a burial at sea.
May they rust in peace.

Well it was a 2.5 so i dont feel that bad, she did me wrong all the time so thought id get her back. You know what i mean. LMAO!

I've had nothing but good running from my 2.5.
If you've had nothing but problems with yours, maybe you should grind it to dust, and feed it to the family cat, and let the cat bury it properly.

hahahahahahahha, i swear your the funniest out of ne one on this site. The only thing i have left is the piston and sleeve and i just like seeing them cuz they look cool to me, they just sit on my desk. ill prolly just end up throwing them away cuz I'm moving soon. YA! YA!

yes i did bury it :( it looked after me and had many an A final win so a can't complain, wish i coulda taken its place but it just wasn't to be
