:angry:The nearest lhs to me is 150 miles away and I have being waiting for about 6 months to get glow plugs for my Nitro Rustler!! It cost $15 for 3 (maybe thats good??) and when I opened them 2 had no coils:angry::angry: and 1 had a coil!! I pit it to the test (see if it worked) and nothing happened. I grounded the plug no the head and ever thing but nothing happened:angry:!! I jimmy rigged up something and found out that the plug really works and that the problem was with the wand!!! Has anyone had problems like this before or is it just me???? Dose traxxas electronics have a lifetime warenty( I thought I read that somewhere) I SUPER PISSED:angry::angry: right now so I have spelling mistakes!!!

If you're using the EZ start, lose the blue wire and get a separate igniter. The circuit to the glow plug tends to go bad on a lot of them.
When you don't heat the plug and spin the engine with the same battery, you'll get more cranking time and a hotter plug, also.

at least you engine turns over my one way bearing is slipping takes 29min just to start the car

Same here!!! I hate that one way bearing it slipped with the ezstart and my current pullstart.

I sold all my ezstart stuff I now have 10lbs less of stuff to carry around, just have a pull start and a ignitor. Theres nothing wrong with pullstart its easy if you know what your doing as far as priming and de-flooding engines.

might wanna check your one way bearing. It shouldn't be slipping with either the EZ start or the pull start.

i replaced mine...but of course it started slipping again...I have to take out my engine every 4 tanks and take the pullstarter off and clean the bearing and shaft with brakekleen....then it works for another 4 tanks lol

the traxxas people actully said to drill a small whole on the back of the ez start where the bearing goes and when it starts slipping just spray wd-40 1 quick shot

Ummm.... WD-40 is a lubricant not a degreaser nor a cleaner! Sounds like Traxxas is giving bad advice!?!? Somehow I doubt it!

Explains why your one way is slipping! Please do not give un-sound advice like that out on RCNT. People spread that kind of bad information around and we all suffer! :ban:

Folks, if you were to actually use ANYTHING on your one way to prevent slipping please use brake or electric motor cleaner.

Actually.....

http://www.wd40.com/faqs/#q1

Straight from the official site, it's a Water Dispersant. Granted, it can be used as a lubricant.

Now, as for Traxxas; they're known to offer up some rather goofy advice. Some of their legendary advice includes using WD40 as an after-run oil. Their reasoning is that it probably lubricates the one-way bearing, causing the rollers in it to unstick and grab the starter shaft... Otherwise, your guess is as good as mine.

WD-40 can be and is used as a lubricant among other uses. Thats why it is used as an anti-seize on stuck bolts...

To lubricate is to decrease friction which is counter productive when it comes to a one way. The reason one ways usually slip is from a leak causing fuel (which contains oil as a lubricant) to contaminate the one way. If Traxxas is actually telling their customers to use WD-40 on a one way then I am done buying Traxxas products.

From WD-40's site: 4. LUBRICATES: WD-40's lubricating ingredients are widely dispersed and tenaciously held to all moving parts.

In other words, it will cling to a one way and what happens?

Wait for it...

IT SLIPS!

on wd-40s web site it says its a degreaser whitch is causing the 1 way bearing to slip. there is to much grease on the shaft causing it to slip. it worked for the guys from traxxas so why shouldent it work for us.
he went to the track every week and that was the only way to get it not to slip besides pulling the bearing out and cleaning it.

It also says it lubricates. which means its going to make things slip! Traxxas is known to have some goofy advice, some of wich is not the best advice.

Congratulation man! I actually understand that. No I'm not trying to be an ass I'm being serious. If you keep typing like that you will be more respected :)

It may remove grease but on that I am not sure. I do know it removes tar, sapp, and bugs. Also removes car wax too so if you use it to remove the above you will have to re-apply the wax.

All I am saying is that using WD-40 instead of brake or electric motor cleaner is defeating the purpose. The lubricants in WD-40 will coat everything in a light film and will make the one way slip more. You yourself said your one way is slipping and yet you posted that advice. So either you are using it and thus your problem or you are not using it. Not sure which is the case.

In any account you should be using either brake cleaner or electric motor cleaner. Both are degreasers that leave no residue behind. I simply don't want bad information getting out there. And if Traxxas told you that then they will not be getting any more business from me. I WILL be calling them in the morning to get to the bottom of that ill-advised suggestion. You said "he went to the track every week and that was the only way to get it not to slip", may I ask who "he" is? I assume you mean the guy from Traxxas that told you to use WD-40?

I agree--much more intelligible writing, gaart! Keep up the good work on the writing young man!

The only thing I ever used to clean the one way bearing on my Tmaxx was either rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol. It went a LONG way between cleanings.

I should have added denatured alcohol to my list of to-use cleaners in my rant. But I am sure you agree that WD-40 is not a good idea...

Why the past tense? Oh, thats right, it's sitting on a shelf...

You even cleaned the OWB for it to sit on the shelf?:p:
