It's a 96 Gulf 2.0. It has a steady check engine light and I can't figure out why. The code comes back as an oxygen sensor. We just spent like $800 at the dealership 2 months ago getting the O2 and catalitic converter replaced and it still has the light on!! Sometimes it just stalls for no reason and it idles funny sometimes. The problem is that I just don't know how to work on it and neither do any of the local shops. It's hard to get parts for and it's really just a PITA. The only place to take the damn thing is the dealer and we can't afford to keep shelling out that kind of cash to fix it every other week. She's been thinking about trading it in on a new Cobalt. I think I'm going to push for this just to get rid of this POS.It's been a problem since day one. The first week we had it the coil went bad. A few weeks after that it just died and wouldn't start again. We had it to 3 different shops in 3 weeks and nobody could figure out what was wrong with it. It turned out the cap was cracked and nobody noticed? THEN a few months later the cat clogged up and thats when we took it to the dealer and got raped.A few weeks after it got back from the dealer the rest of the exhaust fell off! It's just been a problematic car.
