Bigger Tires

The only problem I've found with my MT 2 is jumping. NOT ENOUGH GROUND CLEARANCE. I know, i shoulda got a Moner Truck? WRONG This is an awesome truck. What i want to know is if i can put t-maxx sized tires on and if i can find some of those off set rims so i can turn good with larger tires. I know ill need a stronger steering servo. The stock one is ok but i turn one way much better than the other way. Post a reply if you know what else ill need to do this or if its even possible.

Also I've bought some heavier shock oil but i still want some much stiffer springs.(the tail end of my truck sags even if its not accelerating) If you know where i could get some stiffer springs please tell me.

When I put bigger tire on my XTM I had problems. The .18 revved really high, had a lot of power, and was geared tall...

So, whenever I accellerated, the tires would balloon up crazy big and blow off the rims. The front tires would turn fine but the truck handled like a brick.

If you gear it low, it might work. I would try longer shocks for more travel and stiff springs to keep it high.

What the hell does this mean??

I tried putting larger tires on my ST (xxx-nt) and it broke the axle carriers way to often. The poor little truck wasn't designed for that much extra enertia. I was using stock xxxnt rims with proline mashers on it at the time. It just made for a weak setup that couldn't handle bashing.

If anything, I'd suggest stronger springs, heavier oil and high end shocks (aluminum) that can take the extra pounding vs getting larger tires and rims.

Don't try to go all the way to MT tires, get some Pro-Line Masher 2000s. They fit on a regular 2.2" truck wheel but they're taller than "normal" stadium-truck tires and thus give you more ground clearance and more cushion for landing. They also give you a little more control in the air because they weigh a little more. Of course that increase in diameter and weight will slow you down a little, but throw on clutch bell with one or two fewer teeth and you should restore most of the acceleration you had.

i agree i jsut bought soem of the proline tires today that are bigger an di get way better ground clearance and i can drop it above my head and it wont bottom out
