I'm looking a bigger rx box for a tmaxx. I'm currently using a. 15tmaxx box and i need one a bit bigger, i dont know if the newer 4909 model is any bigger or not. Does anyone know of a box from any other modle is bigger that i can use. A box about 2Wx2Lx2.5H would be good. Thanks in advance..

What ya got goin on nikko? Need more space to tuck wires? I was lookin for different rx boxes on ebay a few days ago and found something you might be interested in

How many wires you got? I use the 2.5 RX box for just about everything I build. With a 2.4 Ghz receiver there is even room for the off/on switch mounted in the box along with the servo wires for the throttle/brake, steering and temp/voltage telemetry sensor. Could add a couple more wires if needed.

Well, i have 2 servos, a push glow a on/off switch a charge wire, battery wire and the shell lights.

Your welcome, I kinda like the MBX5 box myself but I haven't yet decided what I'm going to use on my Thunder chassis yet.
ATM I just have the 2 types of stock Maxx RX boxes.

I did the old type like Snook said, and it has a bunch of room left over if using a small 2.4GHz RX.

And I have one of the new maxx type.

I'm using the black 2.5 box myself, the same way you show in the pict, but I'm trying to hide all the wires, and I'm running out of of space. How is that newer gray dox compared to the black one as far as internal space.

I cannot compare the two, but I have the 3.3 grey box on my tmaxx and it has a good amount of room because the grey box has space for the optidrive module.

Good idea with the on/off switch, Nitro4910. Did you end up removing the battery box for more chassis space?

Andy I ditched the battery box when put the Ofna Violator tank in it's place.

Nikko I gonna say the grey one has a bit more room in it then the black one does, especially if your using a small 2.4 ghz RX.
Pics of the 2 side by side.

As you can see, my RX doesn't even make it to the top edge of the bottom half of the box.
The entire top portion of the grey box is basically unused, I am going ti get some of the expanding mesh wire loom to run my servo's wire through & I will then stuff the excess servo wire into the box top.

Ok, from what i see, the gray box has a lot more room on top of the rx and around it to stuff wires in.

Black Box is in mm 32Tx40Wx50L
Grey Box is in mm 45Tx30Wx55L(I only measured the width of the top half since the RX & switch takes up the extra room in the bottom, if you mounted the on/off switch elsewhere you would have that area too)

The extra room is defiantly in the lid, mine is just empty space right now.

The Violator is 150cc, has baffles & a cintered bronze fuel filter in it & the pressure line inlet swivels 360° to were you want it.
That & you only need to drill one hole, you can reuse the rear battery box hole, all you need are some 40mm long mount posts, some use the maxx steering posts but I figure it needs too look good to & for the same price you can get some axial posts.

Then zip tie your hump pack next to the steering servo using the slots in the servo mount to run the tie under.
