Ok so I upgraded everything on my savage X that was plastic to aluminum except for that radio box :\ . Anyway the point is now it is heaver and I'm in need of more Power. I placed a new Axial .32 in it but I'm afraid it just wont be enough for me. I was looking for something in the ohhhhh .5 range is there anyway to convert a helicopter engine or do they make an engine this size to fit into the savage?

May I ask why you wanted to replace all that was plastic with aluminum?

Doing such a thing makes it look strong but in fact can be more harmful to your wallet in the long run.

STS.30DM is as bad ass as your gonna get, a heli engine won't have enough RPM's to get the speed you want.

truthfully......it looks pretty lol. I'm in the Army stationed in Korea and I have nothing better to do. but I'm taking all the plastic parts and building another savage with them so I have one to show off and one to bash like a mad man with. What do you think of the .46 that come stock on the CEN Genesis

Those .46 engines are just torquey. I would suggest an OS 30 VG or an STS 30. I have run the STS 30 on my old savage but it was not as "pretty". It moved it fine for me.

New era makes a conversion for the .46 (Genesis) or .70 (Ek4) engines. I have wanted to do both in a savage, just for the heck of it!

The OS.30, the bearings in the Axial are no good, they fail around the 8 gallon mark and can't handle any RPM higher than 32,000 and the NX 76 just sucks. :whack:

The OS.30 is a damn good engine and will last a long time provided you don't over lean the engine and pre-maturely burn the bi-metallic liner in the sleeve.

hmm ok well i want something that gives me about twice as much power as the K4.6 engine. what would anyone suggest?

I want to see the whole thing man. It sound sweet.

Bryson

Getting twice as much power as a K4.6 into your truck is probably not a good idea. Any engine that has that much power is not going to be reliable, its not going to spin very fast, and will probably destroy your truck more often then moving it.

Your best bet is to go with a nice 30 or 32, such as the OS .30.

those horsepower claims are :thumbdown

STS .30 is going to be more powerful than the axial .32. A modded D30M is DEFINITELY going to put that axial to shame, along with most of the other bigger big blocks.

you want twice the power of a 4.6, put two engines in it!! youve already said its the pretty one, so go true shelf queen and do the truckzilla dual engine mod.

The OS 30 is a screamer. I saw one once in a savage X and it was nice... The guy couldn't drive or tune to save his life, but the truck had good power and the engine had legs to carry the top speed well.

If I can rationalize spending $200+ again for a basher engine, the OS30 will be it. I've had bearing issues with the OS21RG, but the 30 is a much better built engine. If it tunes as easily and holds a tune as well as the old 21RG, it would be a great engine out of the box. Then, if you have the $, send it to someone reputable to get it polished/ported and it would be nuts.

the sts .30 is a good engine, wannarunem had one on his storm buggy and man that thing screamed. i have the os 30 on my savage x but i havent even broke it in yet. i feel like eddy and the chriscraft..... :(

the OS .30 is a joke of an engine for its size. Even Mid Tier .21s can smoke that thing.
