IMO the trucks are virtually the same. Same dual deck chassis with separated compartments for tank, servo, and rx. Same servo setup, same on-board batt. pack placement, same engine placement, same threaded alum shacks...etc... For this one i would have to go with the GT2. I own a GT2 and it is awesome. I opted for the team kit so the extra hops were included and opted for an os engine. Associated has been building solid trucks for a lot longer so for me the choice boiled down to Associated experience with truck building. I am not biased towards the GT2 because i own one. My first truck was an HPI RS4 MT (electric). It was an awesome truck, HPI makes a good product as well. Associated has just been making good trucks a lot longer.

Kits will always have better parts than the RTR versions since the kits don't include the electronics.

If this is your first RC car i recommend rtr. You will get motor and electronics included for a good price. You will only need AA batts, gas, and glow ignitor. If not first RC go kit and use electronics you already have. If you just want the best truck then get the GT2 team kit. Things to remember if you go that way. You will need a radio (should come with servos and rx), AA batts for radio and rx pack (or 5 cell rechardable for rx, and then you will need a charger too), engine, box start (if engine is not pull start), fuel, fuel fill bottle, glow ignitor. I would also get 2 or 3 extra glow plugs youll need another after break in. Lastly a lot of patients for getting your engine to run smoothly.

Well.... i personally own a Firestorm 10t. If you are planning on bashing, jumping , trashing... get the GT2 because I've found parts can be difficult to find for the firestorms. If you arnt worried about parts Go with the Firestorm, its a great buy. Either way get it RTR.

definetly the firestorm 10T. My friend has the GT2, and I the firestorm, and i think mine is a better truck.
