What are your guy's takes on a new set of 4 big bore shocks instead of the stock 8, better handeling? Jumping?. What would be a good a brand to go with? Thanks

what are they going on? it would be cheaper if you just got extra firm springs. thats what i did on my MT. That made it handle better

I have them on my 4.6. I kind agree with Yammaha. Stiffer springs should do the same thing. I bought my 4.6 with the big bores already on it. It does however make it a little easier to work on.

Thats kind of what I was looking for-easier maintenance. The stock shocks on my savage are starting to leak so i just thought that it would make it easier to replace seals on only 4 shocks.

That may be so, but it's cheaper to replace stock shocks than big bores when they bend/break.

That is also true!

When I got my X, I tossed around the idea of getting bb shocks, but it the long run, it just wasn't the way to go. Just pick up an extra set of stocks, and if one blows, you have a replacement on hand to run, and you can fix the bad one in the meantime. Save any that break, and you'll have spare parts for future rebuilds.

I meant that the parts around the BB's is easier to access. So far i haven't had to do any maintence to my BB's. I bought a complete set of stock shocks off ebay wed. for 11 bucks (unassembled) and saw a set for 14 (assembled). Last time I checked it cost about $78 for the BB's. THAT'S ALOT OF STOCK SHOCKS! :ponder2:
