i just got dirt in my 24.7 engine on my x-terminator ( ), so i will most likely be needing a new engine. any suggestions? it's gotta be at least as powerful as the 24.7 and be under $200. if it matters i'll be using a starter box.

thanks

oh yah btw, i don't race so it doesn't *have* to be a .21, it could be bigger than that or whatever

hands down get the hyper7 8 port..you can't go wrong.very easy to tune.
and you can get one for 120$ well worth the money. This isIMO

i've heard too many bad things about this engine...not too sure if i want it. i was thinkin about the wasp .26...anyone know anything about it or hvae any experiance with it ??

then also there's a chance that i'll just get the 24.7 again...

for the money I would get the 24-7 Pro. Just to check it out

the 24.7 pro costs the same as the wasp .26...anyone have any experiance with either, or even better both ??

thanks

i just found another engine :) anyone have experiance with the picco .26? thanks

what bad have you herd about the hyp 8 port.i have never herd any thing bad about it.i have owned one and too of my buddys have them.with no problems...

meh, i just want something bigger than a puny .21 :p

power and tuning ease/starting is of utmost importance to me in an engine

lol the hyper 8 port is big and will hang with the best of them.and is a very easy mill to tune..

I'm running an omega 21 comp engine in my newly aquired savage. I'm running 52spur/16cb and it hauls azz. I need to work on the shift point though. It shifts way to early. Here's a link for the engine: Omega 21 So far, it's been a good engine. Pretty easy to tune and holds the tune well. I can't remember where I found specs for it, but if I remember correctly, it's rated at 2.4hp and a maxx rpm of 38K. I think it puts out more than 2.4, but what do I know. Compared to my OS 21 RG, it has gobs more power. It was uncontrolable in my 21 maxx. I was eating parts right and left. I've only ran about 2 gallons through it though, so I can't vouch for it's longevity.

Just so you know the Wasp .26 is the exact same engine as the Picco .26 with a different color cooling head.

Sucks that you got dirt in your engine but I would suggest getting the Picco/Wasp .26 just because so many people have used them in thier savage. just IMO.

it is? whoops, didn't really realize that

anyways, there's a chance i'll be able to fix my engine. i'll let yo know either way. thanks all for the help ;)

Were you running your engine when dirt got in it? Because if not it should be pretty easy to tear it down clean all the internals, but if you did run it then chances are it is dead.

i feel like an idiot now. the reason the engine wasn't running was because one of my fuel lines was kinked, so it made the engine run way too lean. I R MORON

Mines been dunked twice now (hpi .21bb) in water. It ran upside down in the silt and mud until it chokced out. I just finished assembling it AGAIN.. it runs like a top. Heh, if you ever get dirt/water in your engine immeditey spray it out with WD-40 dont turn it over even a slight bit. With a little luck you'll be gtg
