I use a savox 1256tg for my steering and a traxxas 2075 for my throttle. I have a savox 1258tg that I was using for throttle but it was robbed for another project.
The 2075 works great for a throttle servo and can be had on ebay for less than $20 including shipping.
Savox sc0252mg and a savox sc0251mg are bothe strong enough and very affordable. I just stuck a sc0251 on my tmaxx steering and love it. 145oz in @ 6V. The sc0252 is 222oz in @ 6V.
Don't go overboard with torque, you want the failsafe spring to be able to do it's job. I like a slightly faster servo with about 125 oz/in at the most.
I like to use waterproof servos for my rigs, especially for t/b. Considering the braking and overcoming of the TRS, I like having a metal geared servo with 140oz or more of torque. As it is, I run hitec 985MG's in my revo/savage for throttle/brake. 176oz .13sec @ 6V. Plenty of torque, metal geared and waterproof with o-rings for the case and output shaft. I use one for steering on the revo as well and a comparable JR (older digital) for steering on the savage.
That said, I run traxxas waterproof 2075 servos on my 1/8 buggy and jato for t/b. A bit weak, but those don't need as much power as an MT to do braking.
I'm trying out a Hitec HS-5646WP on my buggy for steering just to see how it does as a stronger/cheaper alternative to the traxxas 2075. If it does ok, I'll probably get one on order for a spare.
You can find 2075 servos on ebay pretty cheap. That's where I got mine. $24 shipped
