Let me guess...so of you electric fans will be trading in your real gas powerd cars for the new electric ones. wanna race now...lol

All i can say is two words, "Wana Race?"

Bring IT!!!!!!!! :first_place::first_place::first_place:

I mean lets think about that sentence you wrote. "Wana Race" ?????? So being that your car is electric you'll win?? I guess so. I mean tuning, setup, and hey knowing how to drive means nothing if you have a tiny we bit more power. :hehe::hehe::hehe:

I always get a kick out of E guys. Hows the Prius treating you???

LMAO! The only cars I've ever heard Alpine mention are his Crown Vic patrol car and his F-250.

Start a post about it. We'll get ya up and runnin'.

i have its in the revo section.... its close but not perfect and maybe I'm over reacting, but i hear so many people talk about if its not right then the engine will only last 3-4 gallons of fuel, and running lean can make it blow up, which i believe, but every time i see a you tube vid the guy has a trail of smoke and 200 comment on how it sounds lean... i was told you dont want to make it sound like a "buzz saw" the lhs words but a gurggle sound hmmm i dont know

If it smokes, stays running and runs at good temps, your cool. A new motor will smooth out over the coarse of the first gallon of gas. I bought a used 2.5 that supposedly was freshly broke in. I've run only about 2 quarts through it, and it starts easier and runs better every time I get it out. Cold weather makes it run like crap, but I think I may have a small air leak. It holds rpm's for a couple of seconds after I let off the gas. I'm gonna wait until a 60 degree day, tune on it, and if I don't get 'er where I want it, I'm gonna tare it apart and seal everything. Oh yeah, to all of you guys that say electric is
"cheating" or "fake". Keep telling yourself what ever it takes to feel better.

I could probably put a little jet engine on a 1/8 scale chassis and blow away an electric, but would that make it "better" than an electric? Would it be more reminicent of what the "scale model" is supposed to represent? I say no. To each thier own, but that`s just MHO.

Electric isn't cheating or fake at all, it just doesn't give you the full experience that fuel powered cars do.

Remember the name of the thread. I agree, though, to each their own. These threads are fun. Notice how the nitro guys get defensive and the electric guys laugh? Gotta love the dedication. Props to all!

I AM a nitro guy (now though i guess I'm more of a gasoline guy :ahem: ) but I still agree that electric is currently way more advanced than nitro. There isn't much more you can do to make nitro engines better, but electric always has the potential to be faster and more powerful.

For sure. Nitro's probably about tapped out. Brushless and lipo will only keep getting cheaper.

high end electric takes just as much effort as any nitro truck. with the lipo configuring, the brushless setup, esc tweaking and car setup. just ask SD he is the electric guru of the bunch. just because someone runs electric doesn't mean they are less and RC hobbiest then a nitro guy.

i have ran nitro for years. and recently just got tired of all the hassle. i got a gasser..

I also have a couple of electric rigs, and its just more enjoyable, (for me at least) to get out there and just run it instead of having to babysit the tuning screwdriver.

but this thread has gotten derailed so far off from the original topic. the question was, which has better performance? top of the line electric, or top of the line nitro. this has already been answered. electric all the way. the advances in battery technology and brushless setups and put electric back in the lead. why do you think we keep seeing brushless conversion kits popping up for all the well known nitro chassis???

instant insane torque, and crazy rpms!

Thats been my point the whole time, Performance. I would never put down nitros, i ran them for a while my self, but now I'm all about gassers and electrics, and about the prius? I could fit one of those in the bed of my truck.............. and still smoke a tuned out mustang GT. lol
