Got a new C6-R body and i was wondering what now Do i need to paint first ? then trim and reme the body post holes out ? or reme the mounting holes first to get the body centered so its easy to see where to mark the holes while the body is clear? Or can i trim the whole body then paint? The body does have the paint and peel protective film on the body so thats why i askek the last Q.

I always do all my cutting and trimming first. Imo it's much easier to fit the body while it's clear, and you don't run the risk of screwing up the fresh paint cutting on it after you paint.
 
I'm trim mine 1st, then paint, then drill body post holes and air hole.
 
I like to complete trim the bodies as well before painting.
I cut all the holes out before paint.
Well, I do when there is the protective spray.
 
I'll 5th the vote to trim first. You won't risk scratching the paint if it's already cut. If you scratch the plastic, the paint will hide it and that's fine.

Make sure you wash the body with soap and water before you paint it. This will make sure the paint will stick.
 
I like to scuff the inside of the body with a light scuff pad (this keeps the paint from flaking off). Be sure not to scuff the windows.
Then, I was the inside of the body with soap and water.
And yes, I trim the body and ream the post holes first.
Some paints have to be backed with another color to get the effect you want.
Candy colors have to be backed with silver or gold, fluorescent colors backed with white, etc.
Let us know what colors you'll be using.

I use the same exact method as Ratzo. I've found that even if I scuff up the surfaces to painted the paint may still flake off in certain areas if you bash your body up really bad. Some extra pointers:

  • Paint in very light coats. A heavy coat may increase your chances of flaking.
  • Flake offs are like battle scars, chicks dig 'em.
  • When applying window decals trim out the center clear portion of the window and just apply the frame. This will results in the clearest most realistic windows possible.

You wont see any scuff scratches after you paint ? My main color most likely will be black or dark blue . But trying to decide what a trim color to match. It is a vette c6 (race version) so if i do a multi color sceme it will be have stripes up the hood /roof and trunk in some way to make look different than one solid color.
 
When you are trimming, make sure you make every point is rounded. (ie, exhaust hole). If you do this, it greatly lowers the chance of the body ripping where the 2 lines would intersect if you didnt round the egde. Know what i mean? its hard to explain.

Also, when you are cutting the mask, dont press very hard. Experiment on how hard you need to press on different areas. About all the pressure you need is your drag, not much more.
