So far the best price I have found is 369.99 at Ultimate Hobbies plus free shipping. Tower has it for 399.99 less fifteen dollars so around 374.99.
 
make sure your buying the new rtr with the servo saver & 4 gear difs in the box

the lowest price may not be the best value if its the older kit w/o the extras
 
but the 4.6 does not come with a radio...cheapest i've seen in on tower with the saver coupons.

i bought my savage rtr, temp gun, and glow igniter from him, gotta support the forum...if that means spending an extra $10 ona $450 order..thats fine with me. poop whats $10 when ur talking about $400-500
 
i got mine at hobbytown for 399$. i have seen it for 360-370 new on the web.......and i seen it on ebay for like 225.

will I see a huge performance difference/durability difference between the 4.6 and the rtr?
 
I see there is a tower special of 15 dollars plus a 20 dollar gift certificate for buying the savage. last month there was a 40 dollar off coupon.
 
yes after u buy a radio, batteries/batt packs, servos the 4.6kit will be faster and u will be very intimate with ur savage...

i didnt have the 'resources' to spend on the kit and radio/servos so i went with the rtr unfortunately.
 
If the radio is what you are worried about for the 4.6 kit buy a used one on e-bay or something, and buy from www.rushrc.com, will keep in touch with you, competitive prices, and you have to support the forum, this is our home
 
I have a radio, just need servos. I'm lazy to build it too since I still have to build a EB4 S3, a Tamiya On-Road.

not really. the 4.6 has a .28 and the savage 25 has a .25. the 4.6 comes w/ different gearing. the 4.6 will be very powereful...more powerful than the savage .25. they say the 4.6 ss goes 44+ and the savage 25 goes like 40 MPH. the 4.6 is faster but it is also a kit. the 4.6 doesn't come w/ a radio or servos either. the 25 is more of a deal i think...98% assembled... i took my savage 25 appart one day to install a new enigne and spur and it was very easy. it gets very muddy and i have to take it appart and clean it all. the 25 u could make faster tho w/ a cheaper engine than the k 4.6 like the: SH .28, Wasp 28, even i have seen the collari 30 for the same price as the K 4.6. the savage 25 comes w/ radio and servo...all u have to install is that cam servo saver, battery pack thing, and the spider 4 mod..if urs comes w/ it. i know mine did...they are pretty close to the same... i got the savage 25 and its sweet of cource mine could smoke a regular 25 and K 4.6 cuz its modded...but even stock it was faster, and more powerful than i thought. the savage 25 is a great MT get it!!!!! o and another difference the 4.6 SS comes w/ a blue body and the savage 25's body is red.. but u can change all of that. re paint it or w/e. t-maxx bodies fit too...
