I have a lot of plans for my new Savage X. The main reason why I went with the Savage is because I want to build something that is really cool to look at. There are so many aftermarket parts available for these trucks and I want mine to look amazing! My question is, with there being so many different companies offering parts, which company do you guys recommend I get my parts from? Is Integy the way to go or do you recommend someone else. I see that Fastlane Machine offers a low center of gravity chassis. Would you guys recommend this setup or should I stay with the stock height chassis. Man there are so many different options and I really could use some input from people who have been through this before. I hop to get the right parts so I only have to do this once! Thanks guys!:D

RPM is pretty much the most popular for things like suspension arms. Integy is fine for bulkheads but thats about it. Dont go aluminum on suspension arms, it just adds weight.

My one piece of advice is to stay away from Integy.

Golden Horizons is a better option and they have a wide selection of aluminum Savage parts if you want to go that route.

Why is it that you say to stay away from Integy??? They seem to be the only company that has a thorough selection of parts online. I went to RPM's site and there is only 2 pages of items for savage. I know you guys said to not get the suspension arms but I want this truck to look awesome! I am fine with a little extra weight I am not going to be racing. I also have plans to put a much bigger motor in. I am just wondering why Integy is no good. Are they weak?

I think I have made my decision. I am thinking that I will go with the Golden Horizons stuff. I will do that cool blue color that they have. Ill do some in that color and some in silver. Should turn out pretty sweet! Most likely it will take me a month or two to get the cash together for this. It sure isn't gonna be cheap!

If your planning on driving it at all, stay away from alloy parts that stick out. Arms and shock towers are things you want to leave as plastic to absorb impact. Putting alloy arms/towers on it just means you will be bending them or anything attached to them.

Alloy c-hubs, bulks, diff cases, uprights, shocks... all that is fine and serves a purpose. Not particularly necessary, but also not a horrible idea either if you want to bling it out.

Thanks for all the advice! Does anyone have any experience with the fastlane lower center of gravity chassis? It seems like a nice chassis but I was hoping to talk with someone who has tried it out first.

For buying parts, I'm actually a supporter of ebay... if you just type savage x 4.6 .. youll have hundreds and hundreds of parts. Also every part other users on here have posted on here at a hobby online shop I've found on ebay for almost half the price if not more.

And ebay is now a legit online store. They are ALL about customer satisfaction and you never get ripped off. I've bought over 160 things off ebay all of witch were good deals and 100% bran new.
