Newbie here. I was wondering if anyone had any exsperience with Wich pipes work best with a Picco P7R.( MBX5) I have a Top 9886 and the motor was very hard to tune. I barrowed a Ofna 063 and it ran much better. I run at a simi tight track (ARC) I was told maybe a JP1 or JP2. What about the Mugen pipe in the magizine shoot-out? Any information would be greatly appriciated.
 :ponder2:

most any name brand pipe should do awsomely... jp1 vs jp2 is high end vs low end (low end=jp1 High end=jp2)

i bought the jp1 for my mbx5 for the low end but mainley...to tell the truth the real reason i bought it was for the re-enforced stinger.

If you are getting good results with an OFNA 063 then a JP-1 should suit you fine.

The JP-2 shifts the power band towards the top end.

I have been asking the same questions in my thread, Xray XB8R? So far most say the JP pipes are the way to go, JP-2 for high end or JP-1 for low end. If your track is a low end, go for the JP-1.

I did some reading about the p7r and it seems like the JP-1 is the best all around pipe for that engine. It likes to rev high so this helps the low end without hurting the top end too much.

Picco engines have always liked the 069 style pipe. the Jp-1 is almost a direct copy but of course with the re-inforced stinger. I use a JP-1 or JP-2 polished hardcoated version on my engines.

:)

Wow you guys are great. Thanks for the info. Looks like MBX5 is going to get some JP-1 Bling. Any one ever tried that Mugen 1005 pipe ?

well i dont know about them piccos but the pipe is not an issue in my opinion. It helps to learn how to tune your engine :-D how did it run much better? what was it doing with the 063 that the top pipe wouldent do for you?

Well K138, I am simi-new to tuning. I was able to get pretty close and had a pro help me tune it and I was within 2 hours on each needle. The thing that threw me was after break-in It was not running good on bottom (lean) and getting hot and losing low end the longer I drove, when we finally tuned i the low speed needle was 6 complete turns out from factory settings and the HSN was about a 1/2 turn in.Still no low end but good top lots of smoke. I was told I should try another pipe for this motor and when I went to the 063
It ran great the rest of the night without adjustment ( won both heats ). There was another guy with a NEW Picco P7R there that night having the same problem (Idont know what pipe he was running but he is a multi time A main winner. Soo yep I am confused  :horsecrap
