Mugen, HPI, Serpent, and now even Kyosho parts are fairly easy to come by.

The MTX-4 is going to be availible in late sept., the car should be killer but only time will tell.

As for the impulse, I wouldn't get it for obvious reasons.

The MTX-3 was killer out of the box and I am amazed how bullet proof this car is.

I have heard it many times and believe it myself, the car is bulletproof, not a single weakspot.

I also agree that there is a chance you will "grow out of" the NTC3 pretty fast.

Well Ys ... a few have chimed in. I hope that Team 17 and Ratzo chime in as well so the views on the Kyosho and MTX-3 will be complete. So far, so good ... most of the guys on the list of names I gave you have chimed in. 710 baby can give a more indepth comparisson between the 710 and Kyosho VoneRRR; Sl0eg1n and I pretty much gave the comparisson between the NTC3 and 710; Ratzo used to have an NTC3 so he can compare that to the Kyosho and I think Ed can compare the NTC3 to his MTX-3 since the NTC3 is his backup racer. Adlawoo, well, all he runs are kyosho's. Even turned his "White Castle Crave box" inside out to use as a parts box .. pretty funny to see it at the track ... that's another story for a different forum. I wish I could give you an honset comparrison of the R40 and another car but Ross is the only one that runs it ... well, there's also Evilgrin's R40 but I think he's busy with family but he runs it pretty competatively as well. He has raced with me and sl0eg1n quite a few times.

This might be a step backwards but bear with me. I have a NIP HPI Nitro RS4 3 ss, is there anything that I can do with this car to make it competitive with the top notchers? Or am I better off selling it and putting the green towards one of the aforementioned upper class platforms?

Sell it .... it lacks the adjustments needed to get the car handeling correctly. rs4 is basically a park basher.

Just checked out the Kyosho offerings, man they are quite a ride. Which car would be better suited for my application, the V-One RRR in basic or worlds edition or the FW05? I also see there is a RR version of the FW05.

Which kit would I be better off getting into? Of course the worlds edition V-One rrr looks to have the most options......is the FW05 in either versions a decent ride comparable to the 710 or Mugen?

Man......I'm getting confused with all the options......just want to make sure that I get the right car and the most bang for my buck!

Kyosho and HPI are represented pretty well at my local LHS, they sont stock either one of these Kyosho kits but they do have the parts available. They don't have them sitting on the shelf, they say they are too high of a dollar kit to have on hand. If someone wants one they will order it. Price wise I think I can do better through ebay.

Just get what your LHS stocks.

Mugen, Kyosho, Serpent, HPI.

You can win with all of these cars.

With the MTX-4 coming out, you will probably be able to find some dirt cheap MTX-3's.

I'm here to chime in.

I could only suggest the Kyosho cars, and I will list my reasons.

Kyosho is one of the most winning car on the market.
They have had more cars in the top ten then any other in the last few years, and have won most of those races.
I love them.
On road and off, Kyosho is for me.

On the other hand, they are not for everyone.
Guy's love the Mugen and serpent.
Great cars as well, but I have no experience with them.

Lol

Don't sugercoat it Diver tell him straight out

I have the Mugen MTX-3 and I love it. It's by far the best handling car I've ever had. It corners like it's on rails and it's very quick with the side to side conversions in the S turns. VERY easy to work on as well.

Cars

It all boils down to what ever car you pick you will get use to. The top cars are all good Serpent,Mugan are probley the best out of the group NTC3s are pretty good too . The Mugan can take a lot of punishment and keep going . I switched to the GT-4 Mongoose this year .I think it has the best C/G of any car that I have had but It's over all design is not that great and getting parts can be tough . I would have to agree with Diver on the HPI .HPI and racing are kind of like oil and water
