if you plan to race him mostly in parking lots give the NTC3 or LD3 some serious consideration, both are shaft driven so while he is stuck due toa pebble jamming up his belt drive you'l be running circles around him.

i hear the OS .12tr is great and the turbo version is even faster.

strange makes a point about the shaft drive issue, however, although i used to be a huge advocate of shaft drive, several of my friends use belt driven cars and have been racing with me for the better part of a year, without any "pebble" damage, so i am beginning to discount this issue.

The TR engine is a great mill, and the turbo even better, however the turbo has two things against it, first, the new 3 needle carb has been inconsistant with the normal OS reliability, and the engine isnt race legal.

i had an off road that was belt drive, my god did i ever have to replace parts all the time, the hpi electric rs4 MT. no idea why they did that.

now a belt drive in an offroad vehicle, that would be an entirely different matter.

Dont over look the ntc3. In my opinion you can't beat it. Plus the part will be there year after year just like with the rc10gt. A lot of other touring cars change from year to year making what you have rare which = had to get parts.

:) You recommend Serpent, and then you have a huge HPI-banner in your signature?

Anyways: If you want a Serpent I would wait for the new 710 / 705s or whatever it is going to be called..
