Welcome!

I wish I could help... I only have two boats, but they're vastly different than yours (mine are designed for high speed) and I'm not sure of what you need.

One of my boats was a ready-to-run from ProBoat. I replaced its ESC with a Hobby Wing SeaKing ESC and it was a big improvement. I was happy with it and used a SeaKing ESC in my second boat.

Maybe HobbyWing could answer your question and suggest one of their marine ESCs...

Welcome to RCTALK.COM!!! 😎👍😁

Do you have specs on the motor?

12v is around 3s so a 3-4s esc should work and is pretty common.

The speed of the boat shouldn't matter at all. If the motor amp draw is met by the esc, all should be good.

This is all speculation by me though because I don't actually own an RC boat.

I always thought long boats were neat. Cool project!!!
