XLX2 combo. It will fit in a 1/10 scale car. If you are getting a motor and esc for bashing hobbywing makes better motor/esc combos for bashing. If you go hobbywing I would recommend a max 8 combo.

Sidewinder is the cheapest.
Xlx2 is the program rich one
Mamba max is 25.2 volts (4s)
Copperhead which is inbetween sidewinder and mamba, but hss better programming then the sidewinder.

What car is it going in?

I was looking at that for a speed run motor definitely not cheap plus I need 4-8s Lipos

Slash 2wd for the time

Isn’t the XLX2 the 180mph motor and esc?

The Sidewinder SCT would be my choice. 2wd or 4wd will determine what kv to go with.
Thats what I was thinking. All around bashing and light speed runs, I always wanted a 3800kv. Traxxas is a 3500 and is close imo.

The copperhead esc does not have a mount to my knowing. The sidewinder I think is a 3s max also.

I have the SCT with the 3800. It's a great setup, but I have been using it in 2wd buggies. It's a screamer.

I had a bandit with a vxl after 2 or 3 years of a stampede. Thst 3500 made it scream on fsctory gear, I can only imagine a 3800 on a possibly lighter frame!

It's pretty crazy actually. Especially if you gear it up, because the 3800 has enough torque to handle pretty steep gearing in lightweight buggies 🤪

It would be pretty awesome in a 2wd SCT, and that is actually my plan for it. I almost have enough parts to build a 2wd Slash just from spares from our no prep build.

I've been toying with converting a stampede to slash. I'm slso building a nitro slash. Thats on hold until I do my third rs4 3 evo.

I like the true scale proline truck bodies, so I decided to do a blue 427ss silverado and a blue 2017 Raptor, each with different powerplants.

Speed of light
So what do I want for more speed lower kv or higher? Like high end speed
Higher kv is more rpm per volt. A 3800kv on 3s is 42,180 rpm. A 4600kv is 51,060 on the same volt. Keep in mind your drivetrain strain and tires alone may never let you hit that exact rpm, that is what is possible with the voltage given.

Higher kv = more high end speed?
Up to a point. It will also create more heat and less torque. At some point, you can have too much kv, because the motor doesn't have enough torque to push the vehicle as well as an appropriately geared lower kv motor, which will cause the motor to generate heat.
