anyone have any info on some of the most affordable quality tool set to pick up and that will be needed? you know i see hudy prices but have not seen alot of use of theyre tools at the track or by bashers! times id tight and some leads on some usable tool kits would help quite a few people out i am sure. so any leads??

there we go, never heard of them before! thats why i posted this to get some more info out there. knowledge is key they say. but these are a little pricey too but look like great quality. i wish i could drop 299.99 on a full set and be done with it but can't. i think the best deals i have seen come from associated and dynamite. have ya seen any at lesser prices. and yes i will look a little more myself. i am just so tired of having all my loose hex keys and screw drivers and such all over the place. its time to step it up. lol just moved out of a tool box and into a roller stackable stanley box.:D

Start out with a set of Losi Race Wrenches or similar, I have the metric set and it does good for 90% of the stuff I have to work on with r/c vehicles. They aren't the cheapest out there, but unless you want to spend more time replacing wrenches, tending to blisters from allen keys, or dremeling stripped screw heads...you get what I'm saying. A good set of metric and standard allen wrenches, a good 6 way screwdriver, along with a decent set of mini pliers will do pretty much everything a dremel, duct tape, or JB Weld won't do.

yeah, looks like losi is the best way to go. thats what i was thinkin, or dynamite. was kind of hoping someone would pop up with a site from hing kong or something. like a metric and standard set in the same pouch for like 30.00 and screw driver set for 15.00. lol yeah i be dreamin! did sound good though right? i know my bud gets his lipo's from hing kong for a fraction of the cost for big names here so i was thinkin:D

Eh, it's possible, most companies outsource their parts and hardware from other countries. Look at all the Slash copies out there...they may not *all* come from the same factory, but I'm willing to bet they share a little bit of the same assembly line between certain parts. ;)

I may not be the biggest losi vehicle supporter, but i LOVE their tools. I left RC for about four years but kept the tools. Now that i'm back in it again, I still have my tools and their good as ever.

lol! yeah i think from what i have seen and used of others they are right there with hudy and all that.

I use a set of Losi hex and nut drivers.

Each set can be had for around $40-$45.

I like them because the handles are shaped like regular screw drivers so they don't roll around the table. Color coding for the different sizes is a plus.

I don't like the round handled drivers and will never use them.

exactly what I use and I love them. Round handles stink. I have had a set and hated them. no grip

Same here, I got my set of Losi Race Wrenches in a big buyout from a guy getting out of 1/8th scale racing last year. Got a bunch of tools, Mugen MBX5 Prospec, Novarossi engine, radio, wheels, tires, starter box, an entire race setup for $450. Got tired of messing with nitro and the cost of 1/8th scale racing so I sold the buggy and all that, but kept the tools.

After looking at those tools, they look like everything I have already in my electronics bag and in some other boxes. I'd say you can find most of that at Ace or Harbour Freight on the cheap.
