Hi Guys,

Am looking at either the Savage XL or Revo 3.3 and was wanting to know how easy they are to customize?

I can see heaps of different parts on ebay and it looks really confusing!

Is it easy to get the hang of?

Thanks!

both awsome cars what about the t maxx i think they are even better or a savage x ss 4.6

i would buy a savage very durable and easy to work on.

as for customizing i would stay away from metal arms and bumpers and stay away from integy thats just my opinion

It's a catch 22 when you compare the 3.3 and the 5.9. Either the 3.3 will break the Conrod or the 5.9 will take a turd. I think the XL is built pretty well and you can see my other posts about how I feel owning an XL.

I have a Tmaxx 4910 with a 3.3, and it is very easy to work on and is now quite durable (after several upgrades that is). However, the Tmaxx is not more durable than the savage unless you put some serious money into it. I love my Tmaxx, dont get me wrong, it has been an awesome truck for me and runs really well, but if you want something that is going to be downright mean and tougher than cat sh*t, go with the savage.....you wont be disappointed.

There are tons of parts available for these trucks if you go with a big name brand. In fact, it almost seems limitless when it comes to upgrades. Traxxas, HPI, Losi are all some good brands. Check out http://towerhobbies.com/ http://www.amainhobbies.com/, http://www.horizonhobby.com/ for some upgrade ideas.

Upgrading and working on these trucks in general can be intimidating at first, but if you stick with it(and try not to get to frustrated), read the exploded diagrams for your truck and read what ever you can on forums such as this one, you can learn alot about them quite quickly. There has not yet been a question that I have had that I havnt had answered here, everyone is very knowledgable and helpful.
