AHHH!!!! Ok, so I decided to unscrew a few things on my car. Well, i put them all back together. When I started my car, it wanted to shoot off! Well, I pretty much got that fixed. So I went to start driving my car. It was working fine for a min....then it just had a mind of it's own. It just started going full blast in circles and then shot off, hit a curb and finalling flipped itself upside down. Well...after this, i noticed my battery strength indicator on my Tx was very low. Would my Tx battery being low cause the problems I was having?

Another thing, I live in Orlando. Anyone from my area want to get together, maybe talk on the phone, discuss a few issues? Maybe help me out and possibly be like a racing buddy? I really want to find someone close who is into this so that I can learn and have fun racing my car against.

Thanks

Yes, a weak TX battery will cause those problems.

TX cells should be checked often to make sure you will not have a run away RC or erratic driving. The first thingt I do before starting the engine is checking my TX battery pack.

been there done that bought the t-shirt, then bought the replacment parts. yes it is rough when you first start out, bet you won't do that again.

Ah man! You going to come scrape the burrito bits off my monitor because I laughed so hard? Truer words have never been spoken!

Christ, that is funny stuff!

Get yourself a failsafe, best $20 insurance policy out there.

MW, wife musta ate all the Oreo's again so now you sittin' at the bar eh? LOL

Failsafe and throttle return spring can prevent costly damage to your ride.

At the very least, get a failsafe.

Failsafe precaution: Sometime after installing a failsafe, I was running my truck in a parking lot, and since I seem to always have one problem or another, when my truck kept stopping, I kept trying to get it to go by applying the throttle, and it would. It did this about 2 times. What I didn't realize, is that it was the failsafe trying to stop the truck because of a low RX charge. Well it was running straight, and just before I tried to turn it, I think the low RX charge caused the throttle servo to lock in the full throttle position, and hit a curb going 20+. Ouch. The old saying... If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. I'm afraid to add up how much I've spent repairing my mistakes.

I definately get where you're coming from. Having never been involved with RC before, I went straight to Nitro - electric never appealed to me as much - too quiet and clean :devious: hehe anyway what an expensive learning curve!
Just to list a few of my mistakes - stripping the threading of the head button by screwing in a glow plug too tight in a brand new engine - I had to wait 2 weeks for the replacement head off the internet before I could even start the thing, I've stripped two spur gears by not aligning the engine correctly and sprayed the entire car in fuel when I hadn't tightened the head correctly. Not too mention everytime I re-assemble the clutch bell I need to get a friend to help me get the four shoe clutch properly installed, otherwise I'd probably do it all wrong. Anyway I am learning and slowly spending less as I learn from my mistakes!

I also want to say my mistakes

They are......none. I haven't done anything wrong.

The point of that was that my hpi rush evo doesn't start. You know already that I haven't done anything wrong becuase I just told you, and seriusly I haven't.

I've tried everything I could think of. i checked if the engine was flooded. It weren't. I checked the fuel was going through. It was. I checked everything was on and working eg: reciever and car turned on and working.

So then I tried priming the mill. I did that by puting my foot infront on the exhaust and then pulling the pull start. I then tried starting it. It wouldn't start.

and then i though: Oh yeah, I haven't checked the glow plug ignitor. So i took the glow plug filament out and then put it in the glow plug ignitor.
Oh dear! The glow plug filament was not glowing red hot.

So now, i've put the glow plug ignitor on charge. I hope that makes it work. If not then it's still alright becuase I've got enough money for a new one.

Still, has anyone got any tips for me?

Thanks

And are you always using fresh fuel? fuel should not sit in your car or motor for a length of time.

:OMG:
MISTAKE ONE; Did not make sure glow igniter was charged BEFORE putting fuel into the motor, now you have a bunch of fuel just sitting in your motor.

MISTAKE TWO; (minor but I feel worth mention) use finger to seal off pipe to prime, your foot is NOT going to seal the pipe very good to get fuel to the motor.
MISTAKE THREE;(again minor but woth a mention) Should have checked it on another glow plug, it might not have been the ignitor but most likely was.
SO maybe possibly you should not start out with I have made NON mistakes--there is always little mistakes...modesty in say help what am I doing wrong doesn't hurt but a little.

I have never made a mistake I always meant to do it, straight into the pole with the radio turned off yep meant to do that, ticket for 77 in a 55 yep that too, I think I should own patients on some of my screw ups, biggest foulup or cockup as our british buddys say, so far has been my orion wasp .28 Monkey Wrench will back me up on this one. what a mistake.
all coments were made tongue in cheek so if you didn't pick up on it go buy a sense of humor.
