Something new to park in your living room and wax, never to be driven, Ralph?

Hold on... who did you buy this for? I thought you stopped driving after they stopped using horse and carriages?

Today I drove it to the local car wash. Seriously. :) There were spots of tree sap on the windshield that had to go.

It was SO much easier back in those days. Buy a new carriage and you didn't even have to adjust the seats. Yesterday I was trying to adjust the temp of the AC because it was too cold, and while messing with the touch screen my ass started to get hot. If anyone is looking for me, I'll be reading the manual.

Haha, I can believe it too, these new cars are pretty crazy all the features they have now. Seriously though good looking ride!

This is my third Caddy but certainly the most confusing dash I've ever dealt with. I spent almost 2 hours in it trying to set things up. Several attempts to pair my cell phone but at least that's working now. It's a Bose system, so the phone is incredible in both directions.
I'm inside getting something to eat but I have a 225 mile round trip tomorrow so I still have to figure out how to set up the GPS and cruise control.
Oh how I miss the days of mechanical sliders and big round knobs to turn.

Lmao! I have an 84 couple Deville.. Although it's not on the road at the moment... In the midst of a timing chain, gears, new cooling system etc... But the car has a VERY basic on board systems monitor built into a VERY basic computer system... That compared to my DTS... LMAO! I'm pretty sure the dts can launch missles if so programmed! Good luck with all that pairing and programming etc!!! BLAH!!!

Wow, @Racer 1966. If I still had the house with a garage I'd come and get it. I always loved those long '70s Eldorados.

So the super coupe has been replaced?

It wasn't the Super Coupe, it was the LX with the REAL 5.0 HO engine. It sure was strange watching it drive away yesterday. I had it for 17 years.

Yah, that's a bummer. Hopefully the new owner will give it the same live and attention it had obviously had with you! I am terrified to sell my deville! I will be SOOOOOOO sad to see it driving down the street with 30" wheels and an elastic band stretched over them, hopping up and down and just ruined to the point of disgust!!!
I'm sure your car will have someone who loves it for its classic styles and has no desire to destroy!

If it's anything like my 300, the seats and heated wheel might turn on automatically (unless you find a setting to disable it) when you use remote start and the outside temp is below some random number. Surprising that they do that when it's cold, but don't turn on the AC and vented seats when it's hot. I like the heated wheel on cold days, but I never use the heated seats. My wife does though.

First thing to check on though is the wipers. Mine are automatic unless you shut it off. Don't want wipers coming on when your in a non-touchless car wash. That's one of those things I'll need to shut off when my wife gets the car.

Mine also has a stupid humidity sensor that will turn the AC on even if you don't want it on. Is a real nuisance. Especially in the warmer months and you run windows down. The stupid AC turns itself on if it's muggy.

I had a 225 mile round trip today so I figured out a few things. It only took me about 30 miles to figure out the cruise control. It took a while to get climate control turned off since I didn't need to run the AC when it was chilly this morning. Got the GPS working, sort of, but I brought along the one I'd been using in the T-Bird in case I couldn't figure it out. It tried to take me home by a route I wasn't familiar with, so the 2 units were giving me conflicting information. I only trusted my original unit but apparently the new one was looking for the shortest route vs. having mine set for freeways rather than the least mileage.

I got the new car on Thursday night and on Friday the head of maintenance looked at it to see why it was parked in the resident lot. I had a Post-It note on the window with my name and then he noticed my T-Bird up in the corner of the top lot. He came to my door and asked what I was going to do with it. Well, he wanted it and on Sunday when I was outside moving things from the trunk and cleaning out the console, 5 other people asked me about buying it.

With that kind of reaction, you should do well with the sale. Should bring some good money. Try to find someone who won't kill themselves in it. Those SC's are FAST! A friend had a couple way back when

The sale was done before I ever told anyone I was selling it. The head of maintenance who bought it already has a jet black '08 Ford F-150 club cab with the chrome step rails and the hard tonneau cover. It is NEVER dirty and looks like it just drove off the dealer's floor. The T-Bird is going to an excellent home and I have visitation rights.
