This past weekend my companies field supertintendant (we are a structural steel fabricator and erection company) was racing MX in Reno. Not just for fun. It was a sanctioned race and he is sponsered. He is also in his mid 40's. Anyway, there was an accident and he snapped his spinal cord. As of this AM, he has no feeling below the waist.

It was a somber day at work today since we had to begin the process of replacing him right away.

So...everyone count your blessings and be thankfull for what you have and for what you are able to do. You never know when somthing may happen to make the simple task of getting up and walking away from your keyboard or anything else impossible.

My prayers are with him and his family.

Amen to that, I know I count my blessings everyday. Good luck to your friend, hope he can make a full recovery.

One of my family members became paraplegic about 4 years ago. I know what this can do to a person.

I really hope that things work out for him. It takes a long time to get through therapy, and a whole new life to learn to live.

BTW: He did it on a motorcycle as well.

Man that would suck! Accidents happen so fast though, and it doesn't take much to get hurt. I just whipped out on my week old 4 wheeler on Sunday (Didnt hurt anything on the 4 wheeler) But I took the brunt of it. I got bruises all over my legs, shoulders, one on my ass, and a big one on my neck. Plus I can barely turn my head right. And I would estimate the speed of the spill to be like 8 or 9 mph. Shits crazy.

Is he suppose to get feeling back or is it permanent? Man that would suck.

We never know what we have till its gone.
I hope over time he will get better.

One of my best friends lost the use of his legs. Not only did it affect him but his entire family.
