Battery's

DO NOT buy these batteries. I know from experience. They'd be fine for a crawler, but they have a real low output. About the same as a 2000 nicd. Look at Tenergy bats from allbattery, com. Intellects are the next step up and are about the best nimh battery you can get. I picked up a couple 4600, 6 cell intellects and they out perform any nimh's I've ever used.

little more info would help us help you better, what motor or motors, ESC do you have in it, is it full size or the mini version, do you want to stay with NiMh batteries, or go with LiPo batteries, do you have a battery charger already or are you looking to buy a new one???????????????????????

This is would be a pretty sweet set up for a stock full size 1/10th scale E Revo

Specially the charger, the batteries are questionable, people have good and bad experiences with max amps batteries on here, and there are places you can get LiPo batteries cheaper like hobby king these might work for you. http://hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9514

do not buy turnigy batteries!!!! i bought a 5000mah 3s lipo cuz it was cheap and it only charged up to 1489mah and lasted 10 minutes! stay away from them.

A low voltage cutoff cuts the throttle when the batteries reach their lowest, safe voltage. They go between the throttle servo and rx; and are wired into the power wires on the esc. Search ebay for them. Their simple to use as long as you can solder. It may be easiest to use, 2, 2s cut offs. Let someone else chime in to give you the down low on what you need. I advise that you don't run lipos without one, period. You could burn your rig down to the ground. And yourself!

Do not get the Intellect 4600 7 cell battery packs!!! When I purchased my E-Revo I bought 2x 4600 Intellect packs. On the very first charge both of these batterys started to vent (mrc superbrain 989). I returned those and got two more packs. The first pack also vented when I charged it. The second pack did not vent and charged perfectly fine. However when I came back in from running it the battery was leaking. In the end I bought some decent lipos. This will open you up to a whole lot more options down the road if you go this way!

is it really a good idea to run Lipo on a brushed motor setup????, i have heard horror stories of ppl doing that and destroying there motors in a matter of minutes

You can a LiPo with a brushed motor. Just make sure that you don't exceed the max voltage for the ESC and run a low voltage cutoff.

Intellects are the best nimh's you can get. You either had bad luck, charged them wrong or had driveline binding issues. I charge mine at 2 amps and they have never been over 115 f when they're peaked. Stock gearing and faster motors in my E maxx doesn't faze them a bit. You can run lipos through brushed motors safely. Just gear way down for a base line and use lvc's. Watch the temps carefully and stay outta tall grass. There is no such thing as being too careful when jumping up to lipos. Life's might be more up ypour alley, though. Read up on them. They're compelling.
