I am building a 1/10 buggy and I was looking at the battery location and now I have questions. I see that everyone is mounting their batteries perpendicular to the chassis. I know you get better stability if the weight is centered down the middle of the chassis, so why run it side-to-side? I read it is done to distribute weight, but you can do the same with running it longways and arranging your electronics.

You could put the battery to the side but the motor on the other side opposite from the battery so it would improve slabibilty in my opinion

I'm running a 2wd buggy, so the motor is centered. However, I do appreciate your input.
