I have the antique controller that I would like to get working again for my grandson. The holder for the batteries has broken. I tried to glue it, plastic weld it and use a wire to hold it together but as you can tell it is still broken. My question is there an after market part that will hold the 8 AA cells? I really don’t want to invest too much money in as the car is old also.

Welcome to the forum! are the batteries held into the controller like a cartridge? If so, could you get a nickle metal remote battery and use that instead of the AAs? I'll take a look online here shortly.

Thanks for the reply - the 8 AA batteries are inserted into the ‘cartridge’ making up the 12 volts. There is a lot of force from the springs pushing on the ends of the ‘Cartridge’ that force the repairs that I have tried into failure.

Yeah, I went on a fifteen minute Futaba battery holder search and came up empty. That was rough. Even if you would find a compatible replacement... $$$. I'd open 'er up and solder some long enough leads on there for an out of the handle battery holder experience. That's just me thinking for what I'd do for adult usage and before just tossing the thing. Don't want to jerry rig something for potential "little hands" to mess up... a FlySky FS-GT2 for $15, or FS-GT3, or FS-GT5.

Get a new radio... final answer.
