if you're talking about a receiver pack, go with a NiMH receiver pack. If you're talking transmitter batteries, alkaline are okay. Please give us more info so we can better help you better.
 
Yes, you better provide better battery brass tacks so you benefit from the best of the better battery pointers.

sorry, i should have given you more info....

i was asking about the receiver and the transmitter batteries.
I'm currently running duracell alkaline batteries in both the receiver and the transmitter.
what batteries do you think i should use or are these ok?

Unless you're using digital servos that fine. Rechargable Rx packs are better if you run digital servo because digi's will draw at a higher amperage which your standard AA's can't supply.
 
It depends on how much you drive as well. If you burn up a set of AAs per trip out....Spend the $15 and get yourself an RX Pack (assuming you have a charger). You will save $$$ in the long run. If you have to buy a charger....it may be a toss up though.
