I've been running stock t-maxx 2.5 rims with t-maxx stock tires on most of my rigs for a few years. In the winter, I have a set of Imex medium compound swamp dawgs to get through the snow and ice better. They are too soft for non-winter running though. Getting big air pushes the rims through the sidewalls and cuts them up.
Running stock t-maxx rims/tires is a great combo for a basher. I wouldn't recommend it for a track, but for pavement, skateparks, grass and whatever else, the tread lasts forever and there is enough sidewall to absorb big air without cutting the edge of the tires with the rim. Also, the rims themselves hold up really well. I run them on my savage and BB revo. I ran them on my mammoth as well, but I sold that.
I tore through the stock revo tires in one summer. All 4 of them have cuts in the sidewalls from big air. The t-maxx tires I've had on my savage for a year still look like new. The rims are scuffed up, but otherwise in perfect condition. The rims/tires on my revo look great as well.
I use the stock revo tires/wheels as a truck stand now...
