Hey gang...

Got about a half gallon through my S-25 RTR and I don't believe it's shifting. I can hear my RS4s shift easily, and I watched the transmission tuning video from HPI Europe and can hear the shift point in the video.

My Savy, when tuned right, will wheelie pretty easily, so I don't think it's stuck in 2nd gear.

I tried backing the adjustment screw (yes the right one!) out 90-degrees and it still didn't shift. Then I backed it out 90-degrees more, still no second gear.

Does anyone know what the base setting is for the S-25? Meaning, seat the adjustment screw and then back out X turns. Anyone?

I'm upgrading to the 3-speed (kit) soon and I want to measure top speed with my radar gun before and after the conversion.

Thanks for any help...

4 1/2 turns from tight is the factory setting. I read that on another forum. hope this helps. Let me know how it works out.

I called HPI a while back with the same question and was also told 4 and 1/2 turns out from closed. :hammer:

put it on a stand, then very gradually increase speed and see if it shifts too early. My savage did that.

busted i am sure he would be able to tell if it is shifting early without stand reving it ,i would not advise that at all ,dead reving is very hard on a mill
i would tear it down and dbl check to make sure our second gear clutch is working properly it may be hung up or in need of cleaning ,all thats in there is a little spring and a ball that adjusts pressure for the shift points
if you greased it that may be making it stick too for some reason i never had any luck with any type of grease inside a tranny i always use dry graphite on mine and seems to work really well .

Been busy guys with work and preparing for Wilma...

I checked the trans last night and the set screw was turned out almost SEVEN turns right out of the box. I reset it to the base of 4 1/2 last night and I'm hoping to run it today after I cut the grass and get some outside items tucked into our garage.

I'm putting a three speed kit in and I wanted to make sure the two-speed shifted properly before tearing into the trans (which has never been open Racin').

I'm going to radar the truck to see just what the top speed is between the two different transmissions.

More coming soon (providing Wilma doesn't give us an extended stay in a electricity free zone)...
