The day was great up until I developed an air leak around the banjo fitting on the carb. It didn't matter how tight I made it. After a few minutes running it would lean itself out and the leak would return. When I sealed the carb I didn't seal this fitting, I was unsure of using copper sealant around such a small opening. My question is, should I seal this as well, or just replace the metal washer/seals instead ? Thanks.

I seal mine with high temp sensor safe silicone. I do the banjo fitting as well. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but it will save you air leaks int the future.

This may sound like a noob question, but what the hell is a banjo fitting? School me, I've never ehard that one before.

It's the nipple on the high speed needle valve. Basically, its the fuel intake. If you take the high speed needle assembly apart, the nipple is a circle with a nipple on it. It looks kind of like a banjo.

LOL, never saw it like that, but yeah I know exactly what part that is. Are the gaskets aluminum or a composite? I've always had the aluminum ones leak, so I can them and put composites on and it solves the problem for me.
