Is it possible to balloon the motor on my XTM X-cellerator or will it just overheat?

Its because its wet outside and since the motoris out the back of the car I'm worried that it will get really wet and break it. I really want to drive it because i only got it at the weekend.

Thanks for the help!

I really don't see where the electric motor is going to be your primary issue. I run my Slash in the water and it doesn't affect the motor what-so-ever. Some will say, "But, the Slash has waterproof electronics." True, but he motor isn't sealed nor waterproof.

Unlike my Slash, your rig's electronics ARE NOT waterproof. There are ways to help keep water away, such as wrapping your receiver and ECS in balloons and sealing up the servo, but there are no guarantees that your electronics will not get water damage.

If you have the electronics taken care of, don't worry about the motor. Just flush it out with electric motor cleaner when you are done and oil the bearing on the shaft.

The only reason why i am worried about the motor is because it isnt inderneath the shell, like my other cars.

Thanks for the advice. So if i just balloon them then they will hopefully be fine?

You need to balloon your electronics, BUT NOT THE MOTOR!!! It will kill it. THE MOTOR CAN GET WET! but not the reciever, ESC or servo's.

You may even melt the balloon on to the motor if you did try and balloon it.
It would get very hot.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Thanks for the link aswell coby. I'll probably buy one of them when i make mine brushless. :)
