Ok so I've been digging through as many old posts as I can find and there are tons of replies stating that Baking or Boiling the tires are the best way to get glued tires off rims.
I tried boiling my hpi 2.2 rims with proline dirt hawg II tires for about 5 min at a full boil that have gone bald from running on asphalt tooooooo much and all they did was get wet.
I think I ruined the foam (not that I care) but the glue is still not letting go. I only tacked 4 points of contact on both the inner and outter edges where the tire bead meets the rim with standard CA glue from lhs.
Basically what I'm asking is...Just how do I go about boiling/baking them. Are the tires just supposed to pop off? Is it meant just to loosen up (melt) the glue? Was i supposed to leave them in longer? I was nervous about ruining the rims... if I dont HAVE to buy new rims I dont want to. $30 saved on rims for an old car is $30 more towards hop ups on the buggy I just bought.
