Anyhoo, i've done a little research and calculations for the 4-tec with regards to it's gear ratios. That guy who did the auction is completely full of poop. First thing, the car comes stock with the best top end gears made for the car. The guy in the auction said he changed the gear ratios. He'd of had to get custom gears made cuz if he used traxxas ones, he'd be gearing it lower.
Now, with the best top end gears that come with the 4-tec, the final drive is at 4.19. At 70mph, the engine would be turning about 39,500 rpm. Now I don't know about you, but I haven't heard of engines turning that much rpm under load.
Also, the bodies that came with the car, none of them were aerodynamic enough to be stable at speed. I can't remember if he said he used the stock one or that Corvette one. If he used the corvette, he would have spun out before he got to 50mph. No downforce in the back is BAD. And if he used the stock body, he would have had one hell of a time keeping it stable anywhere past 50mph GUARANTEE IT.
