So recently I met up with a guy at the track I haven't seen in years. We got to talking, grabbed his number...and I may have influenced his decision to pick up an scx24...and another for the wife.
Today I have finally sent my buddy enough low $ trail truck opportunities one of his bids won an Associated cr12 tioga with remote for super cheap.
I have 1 more guy on the fence about picking up his first rc....it's just gonna take the right deal and moment of weakness on his part and I will have another grown adult running toy cars around. For the most part I think its easy to get people involved, you just have to let them see you are genuinely excited about what you are doing for it to become appealing.

Having a few buds to crawl or trail with makes it better most of the time. And getting more people into the hobby is always good.

I get bored fairly quick running alone with most RCs, but for some reason crawling is fine alone. Kinda meditative almost, and sometimes we all need a little alone time.

I have found a lot of my hobbies that I really get into are things that can be done alone. Hunting, fishing, trail trucks etc. My work schedule is off compared to most, and coordinating with others can be maximum effort.

With what's been said already I don't think there is any harm in leaving this here.....if you in any way are tempted by awesome stuff ....don't look at this.

Ahhh... A new twist in old RC logic!!! You have progressed well!!!

May as well just give in and order it now.

Yeah, I get that for sure. Mine is that as I get older, most people are flaky and unreliable, or don't want to get up early, or whatever other excuse they can come up with. So I just mostly hang out with the wife on the porch, and am perfectly content with that.

Alone in the woods with a truck and a dog is good day for me. One of these days I will bring someone else along.

This is apparently how the world works...we have this conversation here.....and within 24 hours I put down my first not alone couple miles trailing with a buddy. His rig is a fresh build that he had 1 shakedown run with yesterday...and did have some issues on the trail we shall label as r&d.

Now that I have tried trailing with someone else....I think the wisdom gained is that like today, I will have a strong preference for the company of those who have a good general knowledge on how to fix their own rig when something goes wrong. I had to lend a tool and a hand here and there, and that's good with me.
