So at first, i got interested into the rc car hobby, and started to poke around. i decided i was dead set onto nitro over electric, but i was proved wrong.
my first mistake was to buy a 200 dollar .18 engine cheap ebay on road car.
my second mistake was to start the engine and revv it up without a proper holding.
the car went crazy and started going off my driveway. i put down my remote and ran after it. it flipped over right on the sidewalk, two feet away from traffic and sputtered out.
since it was a two speed transmission car, the larger gear i think, by looking from the bottom, it's missing at least 3-4 teeth, and a dogbone flew out(still dont know what that does)
by looking at the car, it suffered well, only the front right wheel is cracked, but still usable.
my next few engine start ups i propped the back of the car on my foot, and tried it. i went into my garage and with the door open, i started it, but never left it on for more than 30 seconds, and never went beyond 5 mph.
i found out that my car can't reverse, which kinda sucks, and if i give it some gas, it wouldnt stop, it would keep going, wouldnt accelerate but keep the same speed and go on.
now I'm afraid to take it outside.
the exhaust thing is plastic and on the numerous crashes and flips, the end part is kinda chipped, but no real damage to it.
i need some advice as i just got this car today and am only halfway through my first tank of nitro.
if i do switch to electric, can anyone recommend any good ones? not too expensive, but not a 20 mph crap car either.
