i am getting ready to bring my rat shack hummer back to life. i want to put some real electronics in it. i want to be able to hit around 25 to 30 mph with this thing.

so what would be a good motor and speed controler for it. oh and I'm not tring to spend no more then 80 in speed control and motor combined. so what do you think?

First the chassis is very limited, the spring friction shocks bouncy as hell. The motors too limited and even if you can replace the all in one PCB holding the ESC and receiver you will end up with unsatisfactory performance.

The stock motors would have to work well beyond thier limits to even hope to reach a solid 20MPH.And if you manage to install powerful 380 or 450 class motors the fragile gears will strip faster than a stripper.

Your choice but I would save and invest in at least a Tamiya,Traxxas or Kyosho electric truck, then you can make effective upgrades. And find real hopups to make it grow in performance all around.

Just my :2cents:

yeah i was looking at it yesterday and doesn't look like it would work all that well. hopefully on wedesday i will be ordering my new rc18b.

Trust me, you'll like the RC18B much better than that rat shack hummer. With the stock motor, it's insanely fast (for stock). Just check it over for missing parts (mine came with a spring perch missing) and gear lash adjustment.

If it's missing parts, AE is really good about replacing them. I got the missing part within about a week.
