Well i got back into RC and got myself an Esavage, and i prob will get flamed, but in all honesty, i really like it and I've had a whole load of trucks and cars, mostly nitro. but this electric truck is pretty nice, and is going to get a lot better once i put some work into it.

i have a question though ...

the shocks/springs on this thing are junk, I'm thinking about replacing them with nitro savage shocks/springs, because they are way tougher and have more spring options.

only problem is, the nitro shocks are about 25mm longer.

I'm thinking it shouldnt be a big deal, ill just get a little extra down travel, the CV joints shouldnt bind unless its a really extreme situation. what do you guys think about giving it a try?

You can always put about 25mm of fuel tube in the shock, on the shaft between the piston and seal. That will limit the down travel.

yeah someone else had suggested that to me on another board. i think I'm going to just put nitro savage springs on the shocks i have now without the spacers, and if that doesn't work I'm going to switch to the nitro sav shocks and do the fuel tube inside.

thanks.

No prob - Welcome back to the addiction, by the way. I've been thinkin about picking up an E-Savage and putting brushless in it.

PM FastEddy as he has one. He may know.

yeah I'm going brushless for sure, after i get some bigger tires these bajas are tiny. theyd be good road/sand tires (hence the name i guess) but in anything else they can't grip.

i think I'm going to go with stock nitro savage tires, i always liked them.

and then maybe something else for climbing rooty/rocky stuff.

my goal is to have a Do it all kind of truck. and i think this is a good platform for that.

I've heard nothing but great things about the E-Savage, personally. Have yet to actually see one run, but heck, if they're built anything like the nitro version, should be just as tough!

Welcome back to the fold! Let us know how you like that rig!

i love it. i just had it out again today in the wet grass/mud and it was awesome, i crashed it pretty hard a few times, like slammed the front A arms into the curb and the usual stuff that would break something, but nothing broke, i was almost surprised.

it seemed to run faster and longer this run then the other runs for whatever reason.

once i get some nice batteries I'm expecting really good things out of it.

going brushless around christmas time if i have the cash.
