I like to post experiences I have with different companies. I have been on the internet since prodigy first came out in the early 90s. I have never had worse support from an internet company than the service I have received from Winstream in the past year or so. I would switch companies, but they have a monopoly where I live, there are no other options.
Here are a few of my complaints.
I pay for a 3.0mbit/512kbit plan. I only receive about 2.0 down. When I called to report this their response was; In the contract it says up to 3.0mbit, so if your below that, and your are able to connect there isn't too much we can do. This to me is unacceptable. If I pay for 3.0 I should get it.
Also during times which they deem peak hours, their service slows considerably, because they have oversold the dslam (Windstream tech told me this was source of some of my issues). When you call customer service many of the agents don't even log their notes, so when you call in the next time that tech has no history on you. The list of shady business practices goes on and on, and I am getting tired of it. Reporting things to the BBB does nothing. Its been frustrating dealing with this, as I do computer repair, and without the internet I cannot do my work.
If you have a choice stay away from Windstream at all costs.
