LOL at our track we laughed the the guy trying to run LP's. To me they just looked weird on a truggy. They are the same as a 1/8 buggy tire except a little wider. They are a way to get around gearing, but he said he wanted the MT look and clearance for bashing, so the LP's really dont gain you that.
I just picked up a set of LP's for a 1/10 Stampede project, i'll get some pics vs regular 1/8 tires for ya.

sly2136, what do the tires have to do with the cooling fin being flush with the roofline?

I posted some pics in the gallery of my truggy if you wanna see. If you look at it in a scale point of view the komodo's are more at scale than the maxx size tires. A maxx size tire to scale on a real truck would be almost 5 feet high thats a true monster truck size tire. A komodo size tire to scale would be about 3 ft high the high of a true stadium or trophy truck tire. If anything look weird is a monster truck tire on a trophy truck. But thats all personal preference really. And as far as bashing goes as I stated before my truggy is within a 1/4 inch of ground clearance of my revo. If you can bash with a revo then this setup should work. As far as the cooling fin goes I was trying to describe the slammed look that my truggy has thats all and the tires just add to that affect. If i had the monster truck tires on it wouldn't have that look. But my last thing is why would you recommend an expensive conversion to someone who just wants a simple fix and inexpensive way to make a truggy for bashing?

I am not telling him to buy anything. BUT compairing a 1/8 truggy and a 1/10 Revo for clearance is a bit off. How big are stock Revo tires? they are still bigger than the LPs. So a stock 1/10 truck has bigger tires than a 1/8 truggy?

He said he wanted more ground clearance. He can't do that with a tire that is as tall as a buggy tire.

Yes, if that is what he wants, Komoto LP's on offset Ofna rims will work without a gear change. He will get a tire that is the same size except it is a little wider.

I have bow tie mtr's on my revo and if I measure the lowest point of the skid plate and do the same to the truggy there isn't a 1/4 inch of differnce. thats at arms level on both ride hieght.

heres a pic of the LPs

Thanks PSU. I see that they are infact bigger. I am trying to think if that is enough. Those fit on standard 1/8 size rims right?
